Instructor

Alessandra Spears

Alessandra is a lively Bible college grad with a passion for all things art.

She is a freelance media and designer currently working with local churches and small business to get their photo albums stocked and their social media’s looking fire!

Alessandra competed in improv all throughout high school and tries to bring the joys and lessons of theater everywhere she goes. 

When Alessandra isn’t working or spending time with loved ones, she enjos playing video games, drinking tea and seeing pretty places.

She is SO excited to be working as an improv instructor at Lovegood!

Asia Lavay

Asia is a trained dancer from Los Angeles who studied Film and Visual Storytelling in college. She has developed choreography for over fifteen different showcases, films, and media content. Ballet, musical theater jazz, contemporary, lyrical, and hip hop are all styles she is more than familiar with, having taught classes for each one. 

Along with dancing and choreography, Asia is highly proficient in writing and video production. She has written several published short stories and has worked as a scriptwriter and story editor on various short films. Asia has also composed music and edited videos for both film projects and social media for the past five years.

Asia is extremely honored to contribute her knowledge of dance and storytelling to Lovegood!

Brooke Flood

Brooke grew up in Long Beach, WA and earned her BA in Theatre: Acting/Directing & Tech/Design from George Fox University. She also received additional musical theatre training while attending the Open Jar Institute in 2014. She blames her love of musicals on her role model, Barbara Poulshock, who started giving Brooke piano and voice lessons at age 6.

When performing, some of Brooke’s favorite roles have been Hodel in "Fiddler on the Roof" and the Baker's Wife in "Into the Woods" as well as Magdelana in "The House of Bernarda Alba.” She has also found extreme enjoyment while directing with some favorites being "Beauty and the Beast" and "Enchanted April".

Brooke is an accomplished theatre actor, choreographer, and director who hopes to inspire students in their pursuit of theatre and in their pursuit of life. Please join her for a heartfelt and fun journey into the world of theatre!

Evan Aldrete

Evan is originally from California but spent the first 5 years after HS traveling/ performing and directing. Evan since has almost 15 years of performing experience and is thrilled to be sharing it with young budding artists. His real passion is to teach young singing actors to be in touch with their emotion and how to filter real life into their performance. Evan has been recently getting into directing youth theater beginning with Journey Theater Arts Group and is now the artistic director of Lovegood Performing Arts Company.

Grace Thompson

Grace grew up all over the United States, but spent most of her life sporadically in the good ol’ Midwest. A lonely childhood with solace found in musicals from the Golden Age of Broadway ignited her zealous love of theatre. She is passionate about art, storytelling and character development through movement and choreography. She views the actor as an athlete and strives to grow students in their technique, strength and stamina.

Grace earned her BA in Fine Arts from Indiana University where she also studied dance and theatrical arts. She has worked in multiple facets of theatre since then including directing, choreographing, tech/design, teaching and performing.

Madeleine Townsend

Madeleine has been dancing since the age of 2 and has developed a deep passion for teaching over the years. She spent her childhood dancing at various studios throughout the Vancouver/Portland area, with the majority of time spent on competitive hip hop, tap, and contemporary companies at Groove Nation Dance Academy. She then went on to train at the University of Washington with Broadway choreographers such as Steven Sofia, Marc Mendonca, as well as performers from the Rockettes and multiple Broadway shows. In addition to dancing, Madeleine loves Disneyland, psychology, and her family & three cats.

Ruth Walker

Ruth is an Oregon native who has been bringing musical theater to life with the Beaverton youth theater community since she was 9 years old. Now, having thoroughly and irreversably aged out of the youth portion, she is overjoyed to bring her years of experience in acting, teaching, classical and musical theater vocal training to the next generation of students. 

Ruth has previously taght both acting and musical theater classes and received vocal training both privately and at George Fox University. When not sharing her love for singing and acting, Ruth can be found spending time with her husband, any cat she comes across, and the rest of her friends and family.
